     PHPOpenChat is a web based chat software written in PHP. PHPOpenChat utilizes a MySQL database to manage its text lines and user profiles. Supports unlimited number of channels. Each chatter gets his own private channel automatically and has the posibility to invite someone. You can turn each channel to a moderated one. In this case, each line must be enabled by the moderator to be readable by the normal chatters and by a special guest, if there is one. Lines from the special guest or the moderator are directly readable. The normal chatters can whisper with each other. You can set a password for each channel. You can set a start and an end time for each channel. Such a channel is available in this time interval only. You can limit the number of users for each channel to a desired value. You can define ten messages to be shown in the chat randomly. The chat comes with five user groups chatters, godfathers of chat- this chatters can kick users by ignoring them, VIPs (in moderated channels), moderators (in moderated channels), co-moderators (in moderated channels) - this chatters can read all the lines in moderated channels. You can add, delete, and edit topics and articles. No flickering and no permanently refreshing text. Interface is based on templates which makes it very customizable. A user can upload an icon which appears if he types :me in his message. Another user talking to him has to type :you to let the icon appear.
