     Designing Fast Software Architectures in PHP is an article and a analytical study in differences in performance and designing fast architecture. The author asks questions about the benchmarks are reasonable ? and the vast difference in performance about the benchmarking spree of Phplib, ADODB, PEAR DB Metbase and MySQL. Further he asks that benchmark is a simplification and this does not do any useful measurement and what we are measuring is how efficient the class libraries are in performing a selected statement retrieving 82 rows of data containing 4 coloumns from the database. A quick look at the code reveals the speed of the class library in this benchmark is proportional to the lines of code and functions executed. Finally the author concludes that, to avoid overly-complex designs with a lot of message passing and clever object hierarchies, PhpLib is the fastest and is not pretentious.
